In the story The Great Gatsby, Nick is a big admirer to his Neighbor Jay Gatsby. After being formally invited to one of Gatsby's parties Nick is finally introduces to him and finds him very interesting. For a number of reasons Nick finds him interesting and accomplished, and quickly comes to admiring the man. Gatsby treats Nick like a good friend inviting him to clubs and special events in order to get to know him better which make Nick more trusting of him.

When Nick was invited to Gatsby's party he becomes intend on finding anything about Mr. Gatsby. He asks the group of people he is near and it start a conversation of rumors. Someone said that he was German spy, another person said that he is an angry killer. Nick continues to hear rumors
