The James Bond series focuses on a fictional British Secret Service agent created in 1953 by writer Ian Fleming; who featured him in twelve novels and two short-story collections. Ian Fleming once stated, “I don't regard James Bond precisely as a hero, but at least he does get on and do his duty, in an extremely corny way.” In the nearly 50 years since he first appeared on the big screen, James Bond’s character has evolved through the actor portraying him.
