In the morning Ironias bought breakfast and gathered his supply’s on his new horse. As he set out for the keep Ironias consulted his map. The map showed a direct route to the keep but it also showed a longer winding highway which passed close to the keep. Deciding upon the direct route he set off at a quick pace which his mount could maintain for several hours. After a few minutes he started to doze off. He jerked awake at the crack of a crossbow. That action saved his life. Where his head had been a few seconds earlier an arrow sliced through the air embedding itself into a tree. The Holocaust should be considered an example of genocide based on the UN’s definition, the stages of genocide, and the specific evidence provided in the memoir “Night”.…

Reading this novel, I feel deeply horrible. Personally, it is disastrous to live with this kind of man who is an alcoholic and is easy to lose his temper, especially when he is drunk. I am gloomy with the man’s behavior and have pity on the black cat and the man’s wife. When I read The Black Cat, I saw a psycho, a murderer who cruelly killed a black cat loved by his wife, then brutishly murdered his wife instead of his second cat, and hid her carcass in the wall. I was confused with the behavior of the man who did all that damn things and wondering that what a terrible thing drove the man to lose his mind to do these.…

In Beowulf, Grendel’s mother is not given a name; “Grendel’s mother” is what she is called. She is not given a name because she does not fit into the category of the traditional and conservative women. She has masculine characteristics, which is what men dislike about her. In the story, she is not described in a pleasant way. She was referred to as “Grendel’s fierce mother” (615), later on she was also called “the mighty water witch” (595), and even the “greedy she-wolf” (574).…
