This work of art was created by a French artist named Pierre Bonnard, famously known for being a late practitioner of Impressionism art (Sutton 1). Though this image was created outside of the Impressionism time period, it is still labeled as an Impressionist piece of art. The subject matter of this piece is inside of Bonnard’s kitchen. Inside of the home, known as “Ma Roulette” or a French name for “My Caravan”, Bonnard’s wife is pictured leaning against the windowsill, as well as the couple’s two cats on either of the two chairs located near the table (Art Stacks 1). As stated above, Bonnard is considered a late practitioner of Impressionism, and impressionistic characteristics can be seen throughout this piece. The way Bonnard created the
