Hermes is the Greek god of Trade, Thieves, Travelers, Athletes, and Borders. But he is most famously known as the messenger of the gods. Hermes was given control over trade and made a messenger by Zeus. This was after he stole from Apollo, his brother, the same day of his birth and pretended to be innocent. A trickster by nature, Hermes was known to trick other gods for his amusement or to aid humanity. He’s clever and cunning personality paired with his incredible ability to move between the god’s and human realm, helped him aid in many of the stories we read today.
