Many religious parents strongly believe this because many religions deem witchcraft and any form of magic to be satanic. Many of the cases that were made against the novels were unsuccessful given many people had deemed the cases as just plain illogical. KidSPEAK is a foundation that has spoken out against the cases made against the Harry Potter novels; the group was most active in the early 2000s where controversy for the Harry Potter series was at its height. The reasons for this was because many people argued that it was wrong for parents and teachers to censor a novel because of what they think that the novel encourages witchcraft; they should instead talk with the children about these topics and recognize that these novels are meant to be a work of fiction. 4. These novels are no more than just a work of fiction and they're not really trying to make children interested in witchcraft.
