Born To Rock

Do you think that people can be born to rock? In the novel Born To Rock by Gordon Korman, who was an NYU freshman until he discovered New York’s punk scene. Gordon has more than fifty middle-grade and young adults novels to credit. Leo Carway is a seventeen year old senoir in high school. He also is the president of the Young Republican club, a math scholarship to Harvard, and struggling with is not knowing who is his father. Leo thought that he had his whole future plan planned out in front of him. Until he lost his scholarship because he failed a test, which he did not cheat on but got accused of cheating on. Leo also found out that his father who is taking care of him is not his real father. He found out that it’s someone named Marion X McMurphy a.k.a KIng Maggot who is punk’s most famous bad boy. …show more content…
He was going to Harvard in the fall and still being friends with his best friend Melinda. Leo lost his scholarship to Harvard be he got caught cheating a examination test. Before the test day Leo was tutoring Owen one of his friends but they weren’t that close. Melinda his best friend suggested he should tutor him so he did it for her. During the test Owen forgot how to solve for vectors. Leo saw that he needed help and he whrispered to him “remember the pinballs”. After saying that the asistant pricipal caught him and accused him of cheating. Leo lost his scholarship after that and got kicked out of the Young Replublicans
