In the short story “The Lady or the Tiger” Frank R. Stockton leaves you with a decision. “The Lady or the Tiger?”. Some people say the tiger. Some people say the lady. Many big names in the book world have been debating this confusing question for many years. Well I believe the tiger is behind the door. This quote said, “The semi barbaric king had a daughter as blooming a his most florid fancies, and a soul as imperious as his own.”. This states that she is jealous. Just like her semi barbaric father. The word semi barbaric draws my attention because this is like her saying if I can’t have him no one can. This shows her jealousy for no one else to have because if she can’t have him no one can. That is what I think they mean by semi barbaric.
