While it should be no surprise that Sanders, who stands behind a podium with the White House seal and regularly lies to and misinforms the American people, would borrow a line from an average cat caller on the street, it is doubly upsetting for another reason: Sanders is only the third woman to serve as White House press secretary. But let's recall that her job is basically to justify the actions and/or deflect accusations away from a man who was infamously heard, loud and clear on tape, boasting that serial sexual assault was a perk of his "star" status. Regardless of how much harm or harassment a person consciously intends to cause a woman by using it, the request itself assumes that women owe the world -- and principally men -- something.…

The author of this article, Sam Polk, talks about sexism against women in not only in wall-street but in the workforce overall. Polk started off really strong by pointing out how men degrade and objectify women as soon as they’re out of earshot. He also picked on how negatively women are affected by these so called ‘bro-talks’; they either quit their job or sue the company. He also briefly explained the mental effects of ‘bro talks’ not only on women but also men. He explained that men tend to look down on women at work because if you are so used to ridiculing something/…

However, they judge this specific group of women and point out their mistakes and flaws, but are naive to the fact that these women are struggling. The treatment of women alone is difficult enough today. We face negative comments such as being sexually and verbally abused. For example our President- Elect Donald Trump had sexually attacked women and is open to talking about it. He is proud of the remarks he made about being abusive to women, but doesn't realize how degrading and intimidating those actions are when a woman hears it.…

Politically we live in a quite polarizing time. Between the two viable presidential candidates and an equal amount of dissatisfaction of those candidates on both sides, the fate of this country is seemingly up in the air. Though the election holds a discernable amount of media coverage and attention of the public every term the media coverage of this particular election has been dominated by the hateful rhetoric and call to violence of a particular candidate. The candidate calling for this violence is Donald Trump, he on multiple occasions has called for violence against protesters telling his audience how he would like to see them “punched or maimed”. Encouraging his supporters to do so by promising to cover their legal fees if they get arrested…

Current Event 3 In the article “A Brief History of Juanita Broaddrick, The Woman Accusing Bill Clinton of Rape,” the author Eyder Peralta relates about the story of Juanita Broaddrick, who claims ex-president Bill Clinton raped her in a hotel room in 1978, when Mr Clinton was the Arkansas attorney general. Broaddrick’s rape allegations have surfaced twice, once when Bill Clinton was running for presidency in 1992, and another one during Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in 2016. The fact that Juanita’s story has been given national importance during the Clintons presidential campaigns shows that women’s bodies are a tool of biopolitics, that their tragedies are secondary to the plans of certain people to win political positions, and that…

Writing the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson had the goal of creating an individual nation that would soon create its own laws and have authority free from Great Britain. Being named the first president of the United States, George Washington aimed for neutrality and unity within the country. The Emancipation Proclamation was fabricated by one of the most infamous presidents, Abraham Lincoln, in order to rid the social status of slavery. World War One and Two were tirelessly fought by the American soldiers in order to keep our nation afloat and from falling into communist hands. Martin Luther King marched on Washington to promote the equality of all people.…

My 2nd argument is that Donald Trump’s first 100 days in presidency have been detrimental to the status of women’s health and women’s rights. I will begin by mentioning Trump’s previous history with women, where several sexual assault claims were made against him and are still pending. Aside from these assault claims, there have been been incidents in which Trump has degraded women by calling them “dogs, gold diggers, bimbos, ugly, fat, miss piggy” and more. This being said, Trump also stated and I quote “26,000 unreported sexual assaults in the military-only 238 convictions. What did these geniuses expect when they put men & women together?”…

The Telegraph produced a list containing every instance in which Donald Trump made a sexist remark towards women. In all, there were 31 different instances between 1990 and 2016 where Donald Trump demoralized women. The most prevalent of which is of him objectifying female reporters and celebrities based on their appearances. A jarring example of this is in 2009, when a Miss USA pageant contestant came out about the “Trump rule.” Trump being a co-owner of the pageant would automatically eliminate any girls from the pageant that he didn’t find attractive.…

    Essay On Sexism

In our society today, there are still many techniques of discrimination that one would think had been eradicated years ago. One of these techniques is sexism, which is the act of prejudice, stereotyping, and/or intolerance on the basis of gender. Sexism has taken control over the way people think and it affects the job industry, government decisions, the media, and unfortunately, education. Children begin to experience sexism at a young age, typically in elementary school. An example of a subliminal sexist message that they might experience would be a teacher scolding a female student for acting in an unorthodox fashion that does not fit the ‘calm, respectful, and neat’ stereotype for girls, but then excusing the same actions of a male student, using the overused, disgusting statement ‘boys will be boys.’…
