Charlies the Great or Charlemagne was born in an unknown place in Belgium in 742CE by his parents Bertrada of Laon and Pepin the Short. Little is known about Charlemagne’s childhood but through his child hood he developed a talent for learning and speaking many languages including Latin, Greek and more. Throughout Charlemagne’s ruling he gave land and money to the Cristian church. This was a way to acknowledge Charlemagne’s power to stronger the relationship with the church and pope Leo III. This meant that Charlemagne was crowned emperor of the romans on 25 December 800 CE. Until the last four years of Charlemagne’s life he was healthy.
