Charlie is a shy fifteen-year-old teenager who is coping emotionally with the suicide of his friend, Michael. To overcome the loss of his friend, he starts writing to a stranger, someone he heard was nice but has never met in person. He is always watching life from the sidelines until he met his English teacher, Mr. Bill. Mr. Bill told him on the first day of school “if he finds friends on the first day of school, then he would do well throughout the school year” (perks of being a wallflower book,Stephen Chbosky). He then meets two people at a party and found out they went to the same school as him.
