Animal Farm, by George Orwell, is a thrilling, non-fiction allegory that tells a story of farm animals based on the Russian Revolution in 1917. Boxer, a middle-aged, male, working horse, is both a leader and a follower throughout the novella. He represents a leader as he sets an example and shows the animals what to do. In contrast, Boxer is a follower because he takes all direction from Napoleon. To begin, his goal is to work as hard as he possibly can and do the most work he can for the farm. The other animals realize his hard work, making him “the admiration of everybody”(Orwell 16). Boxer sets the pattern for everyone, which makes all of the other animals follow him and do everything he does. Boxer always says, “I will work harder” which
