He is on the quest everything is going great, but at last they come across a cluster of trolls. At first thought Bilbo wants nothing to do with these trolls, of course good old tookish comes around. He feels the sudden urge to not only go ahead of the group, but to pick the trolls pockets. Even though the outcome of this might end up to be not so pleasant, he does it anyways.
In addition to the trolls, Bilbo once again got himself into trouble when his tookish side took over. Bilbo ran into a disgusting creature (Gollum), in which Bilbo had took his “precise ring”. Bilbo had beaten this creature in a rhyme game, which angered Gollum. Then Bilbo proceeded to follow Gollum after he tried to attack him. After Gollum ran away Bilbo followed him right into the hands of some goblins. This is an example of Bilbo letting his tookish side take control of him.
In conclusion, Bilbo is a very ordinary hobbit, but when it is needed most his adventurous side comes into play. Whether it be, trolls, unknown creatures, or even doing something new, being tookish can be a blessing or a curse. It is better to have a good balance between the two rather than being completely boring or completely
