Who Is The Blame? In Arthur miller’s The Crucible, Abigail Williams was the cause of the Salem Witch Trials. Took place at Salem village, Massachusetts in 1692, the guilt of this is Abigail Williams and she is eighteen years old, lived with her uncle and she had an affair with John Proctor. In Arthur Miller’s play, The Crucible, miller demonstrate that is was Abigail flaws – Dishonest, jealously, and lust that led him to be most responsible for the tragedy of the witch-hunt in Salem. That Abigail was dishonest on The Crucible. Abigail had testify Proctor wife for making her spirit push in the needle in her stomach. Abigail said, “Elizabeth spirit pushed the needle in her” (Miller 79). She was the one who pushed the needle in her stomach because she disliked her very much and that she wanted proctor all by herself. The part that she was dishonest is when Paris asked her that if she was casting a witchcraft in the forest she said, “No I sir – Tituba and Ruth” (Miller 17). Abigail had a fight with Proctor about that Proctor knew that it was her fault the whole time and that she been lying, so Abigail had talked bad about Elizabeth.
