Imagine feeling so desperate, alone and suffocated that your walls are caving in and the only way you see out of this is by taking your own life. There is no other option. No one wants you. No one will care. You are not enough. You were never enough and you are a worthless piece of space. A worthless piece of space that is an embarrassment that will never succeed in life. You are a disgrace. For many this has become a dark reality going through many victims who think nothing but this way in life. Suicide is a touchy subject to certain people. If we are being honest, it is a sensitive matter for myself. October 3, 2009 my brother Cody took his life. While doing so he was on the phone with his best friend Brent telling him how he could not do this anymore. Next thing you know, the shotgun went off and Brent could no longer hear Cody. When cops arrived they already knew he was gone as the EMT’s were putting him on the stretcher to take him to the hospital. While putting that thin white sheet over him they removed his earrings and tossed them into the yard with no care in the world. His mother was screaming how such a thing could happen to her baby boy. I did not know this was coming. All I knew was bubby was acting weird before prom. He called me and said, “I love you, but bubby will be busy and may not be able to talk for a while”. Being too young, I never understood the symptoms and signs he was showing me. Looking back at it, those were exactly the signs anyone could give calling for help because they think suicide is the only way out and that they want to give up. Committing suicide not only affects the victim, but it affects those close to that person. So we ask ourselves, can we detect suicidal symptoms, intercede in time and guide this individual to seek the help he or she
