Who I Am Analysis

Just like there are two sides to every story, there are two sides to every person. There is the side that society designates to every individual, which superficially defines him or her. Then there is the side that individuals designate to themselves, to which others are oblivious. This is the side that each person keeps secret, yet it truly answers the philosophical question of who they are. As for me, my curiosity is how I define who I truly am. It may go unnoticed to the outside world, but on the inside it forms the fundamental structure of my thoughts and actions.
There are countless examples in my life where I decided to let my burning curiosity take the wheel. When I was three, I watched my dad untangle a snake from the mesh fence we used to protect our garden. I knew that we had a bountiful amount of these elusive creatures in our yard, so I formulated a plot to catch some of them. The following morning, I had ice cream pales lining our driveway that were ready for some scaly inhabitants. With my garden gloves on, I set out on my carefully planned expedition and was subsequently delighted when I caught three snakes. While they were in my crudely made habitats, all I could do was stare in bewilderment, and wonder how they moved with no feet. For one, curiosity allows me to learn in a nontraditional manner, rather than sifting through the pages of a textbook to memorize material. School does not particularly teach inventiveness, which is the reason I am grateful that I have a natural drive to be inquisitive about the aspects of the world. Curiosity allows me to learn through experience rather than through a textbook or a lecture. It is also important to me because it allows for my life to have vibrancy.
