Prior to the dropping of the atomic bomb, there were many great leaders and famous people like Franklin D. Roosevelt, Albert Einstein, President Truman, who participated in many events and meetings. These significant events led up to the day that the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima in August 1945 (Harry S. Truman Library and Museum, n.d.). Einstein was the person that informed President Roosevelt in 1939 that he felt that the Germans were really close to producing an atomic bomb. A few years later in 1942 “the Manhattan Project” began employing more than 100,000 people around the world, and scientists fled from all over Europe to help on the project (Bellis, 2015).
