Street Pharm ( How does your main character change over the course of the book )

I think this book Street Pharm by Allison Van Diepen shows you how people change through time. For example the main character of Street Pharm Tyrone Johnson changes a lot through the course of this book. In this book Tyrone is a drug dealer who took over his father’s business ‘when his father went to jail. Before Tyrone thought that high school was a waste of time, ‘’ take high school a waste . A waste of time. Nobody there taught me what I needed to survive on the streets’’(Diepen 8). But at the end Tyrone realized that he should register to go back to his school Les Chancellor. Also Tyrone thought that he would benefit from going back to school. ‘’ I learned a few things, met some good people’’ (Diepen 260).

Also he thought leaving his father’s business was a smart thing to do because he might have end up like Sonny or get shot like he did before. After Tyrone got out of his business he wanted to back because he felt normal in school and not stressed out. ‘’ I didn’t even have school no more at least there I felt normal there “( Diepen 278

‘’ Let’s just say I figured out that this business is a dead end’’ ( Diepen 285 ). That is also another reason why Tyrone left his father’s business. Also Tyrone found out that drug dealing would get him no where in life, he also gains more common sense throughout the book. After Tyrone left his father’s business he started liking school because he said he missed the debates in Mr. Guzman’s class ( Diepen 278 ). Also he said that he missed being in school and hanging out with his friends in the cafeteria ( Diepen 278 ). He also thought that if he goes back to his school Les chancellor he could meet with his girlfriend Alyse who left him before because she found out that he was a drug

Near the end of the book Montag is struggling with the idea of finally escaping the punishment of having books and where everybody is anti social, by getting scared of a deer, and still thinking that the mechanical hound is after him even though he just escaped to the river. Life is full of journeys, both physical and emotional. A character’s physical journey is often used by many authors to play a central role in their novel. The process of a physical journey is often associated with expanding knowledge, such as mental growth. The concept of a journey can be used metaphorically as a direct link to a character’s inner search to find his own identity or a search to find a new identity; it provides an opportunity for a character to see himself from a different perspective, rather than his own. Some characters remain stagnant and others become dynamic.…
