There almost always seem to be people with more power in a democracy whether we like it or not. Just like in real life, there was clearly a group of kids that held power and credibility when compared to the rest of the students. The smarter and popular kids were the representatives and even though they did listen to what the other students had to say, they did not really act on it unless they agreed with what they were saying. Whenever a student that was not in the key stakeholder group recommended a problem, the group would disagree and said it was too easy of a problem, and then the rest of the class would agree and say the problem was too easy. The one discussion that we had just a few days ago really sparked my thoughts about the topics of diversity. It was the reading of the long article where all we did was listen and take in all of the information and saw how things are still bad in terms of injustice in Birmingham and all across the U.S. I thought about how our society usually tries to turn a blind eye towards all of that negativity, and how many people, including cops, try to change just laws in order to make their own unjust means and morals seem right. Our society still has a ways to go till everyone is treated equally, however, we have made progress and I have hope that one day I will not have to worry about my family getting treated wrongly and unfairly just because they are
