1. Who are the influencers in your life? There have been a number of people who have influenced my life and my leadership point of view. My parents are the most impactful and influential people in my life. My parents instilled numerous values that shape my life. My father was extremely adamant about instilling respect and manners into my brother and I. He constantly told us to be respectful of all people, whether or not we believe they deserve our respect or not because every person needs respect. My dad cared about reputation. His motto was that every time my brother and I left the house, we represented our family, and that we should bring honor to that name. Due to this, I value whatever I may do because I believe my work and my actions are representations of myself and my family. My mother and father never finished college, but they worked diligently to give my brother and I all of the opportunities they could set us up for success later in life. This has impacted me immensely. I am beyond grateful for everything they have done for me. They were never handed anything in life, they worked endlessly to acquire all that they have. I need to know that the people who work for me can be trusted with the tasks and duties I assign to them. Once again, trust in a key element in the public sector, and I want to know that my fellow workers are protecting the public interest. I want to know that I can put my faith in others that they will perform all their tasks to the best of their ability and always do those tasks ethically. I also expect others to be team players. I value relationships and in relationships, there is no room for self seeking interests. I want to know my employees are looking out for their co-workers instead of themselves. Workers will be more successful when they are focused on achieving the mission rather than seeking self
