This amazing program is the main reason I chose to attend Whitewater. I had looked into similar programs at other universities, but this one really stood out to me as the most beneficial and fulfilling. Ever since I was little, I have always had a passion for exploring and adventure. Learning new things excited me, and I found that new opportunities gave me the ability to do both. Along my journeys, I became exposed to more and more of the marine world. One of the most impactful experiences I have had was on a family roadtrip to Maine to visit relatives. I feel that studying in Australia will be a similar revelating experience that will allow me to expand my knowledge and gain skills and experiences that I can utilize throughout my career. Additionally, Australia is not only home to many extremely exotic and endemic terrestrial animals, it also houses many coral reefs and other marine ecosystems that are found nowhere else. Studying at Deakin will give me the opportunity to explore this extreme biodiversity and allow me a once in a lifetime adventure that will boost me towards accomplishing my academic, professional, and personal
