White Water Rafting In Colorado

White Water Rafting
When we went white water rafting in Colorado with our family friends it was a lot of emotions. First, we got on an old, bumpy school bus. Driving down a narrow winding road, in a canyon with mountains on both sides of us. The view was amazing with every single color you could think of on one picture! When we got on the raft I quickly noticed how cold the water was. It was like jumping into a freezing pool but 10 times worse. Also the water was moving so fast. The rapides were like a tsunami. Whenever you hit the rapids you would fly like 10 feet in the air. When you came down you got drenched in cold water! Then, when we were already drenched we heard a loud BANG a thunderstorm with hail, wind and lightning was coming!

I felt water sloshing onto my feet. I heard my parents and sister talking worriedly. I shoot up and see my dad with an axe, ready to cut through the roof just to get out of the infectious flood waters. My mom holds my sister as we watch him start to cut his way through. He makes a big enough hole and punches out the last of the wood blocking us from leaving.…

Exhilarating: a term making one feel very happy, animated, or elated, would be the perfect word to describe what the day had in store for us eager, and jubilant grade 6 students. A thrilled and luminous smile lit up on my enthusiastic face as I ambled on the same rugged, cracked, gray tinted sidewalk that I had sauntered on everyday for a year. The serene, endless sky was the perfect shade of aqua as the light, silky, radiant clouds formed delicate shapes. The sun was glistening with great luminosity. Suddenly I heard someone screaming my name well not really; it was my nickname, one that really agitated me in an incredibly obnoxious way, “Babikathu wait up”.…

Om this specific day my parents, two brother, my uncle, my aunt, and I were all on the boat, swimming and exploring and having a blast. Until that is the rain clouds came out of nowhere and began to pour on us. Seeing a giant storm approaching, my uncle knew he needed to hurry and get us all home safe. I have never been on a boat that went as fast as my uncle’s boat seemed to go that day. Once we were back to the shore there was still the fact of getting to boat on to the trailer on my uncle’s truck.…

It was a gloomy day. I was at our Subdivision’s Local Beach getting ready to swim out to the raft with my four friends. The “raft” as we called it was the bottom end of a Pontoon Boat anchored in the center of Dollar Lake. Occasionally the rain and winds blew it. When my friends arrived we dove into the shallow end of the beach and acquainted our bodies with the cold, late Summer temperature.…

If you ever happen to catch me in a cut off you might see that on my left shoulder there is tattoo of mountains, pine trees, and five birds leading up to my collar bone. You might ask the meaning, or you might just tell me how much you like it and compliment the artist and ask me where I got it done or ask if I have any others. You might never see a goal as a reason to get a tattoo but Mountains are my goal. My family and I visited the Rocky Mountain National Park the summer after my Junior year in highschool. I had never seen a mountain before besides in pictures.…

I was so excited. Though I was 2 weeks early, I was packed and ready. The weeks prior to the cruise were the longest weeks of my life. All I was thinking about was how fun it would be, how cool the water would feel on my warm skin, and how much free ice cream I could eat once we arrived. I had always wanted to go on a cruise, but I was always too young and wouldn’t be able to do much, but splash around in the shallow end of the pool.…
