White Tailed Deer Research Paper

The whitetail deer is one of the most abundant animals that are hunted in the US. It is a game animal that brings loads of money to people and regions around the US. From selling hunts, paying for deer to get mounted, to paying for the meat there is a large industry for deer here in the South especially. They are one of the most majestic game animals in the US. Its common name is the Whitetail Deer, its scientific name is Odocoileus virginianus.
The white-tailed deer can be found in southern Canada and most of the United States, except for the Southwest, Alaska and Hawaii. A deer's home range is usually less than a square mile. Deer collect in family groups of a mother and her fawns. When a doe has no fawns, she is usually solitary. Male bucks may live in groups consisting of three or four individuals, except in mating season, when they are solitary. During mating season bucks become a different animal in a sense. They are in extreme breeding state with all of their senses honed in on finding a doe in heat.
