White Supremacy Group: Fair Skin Complexion And Racism

Decent Essays
One group that I would definitely and without a doubt have a problem protecting their right is the white supremacy group. This group believes that they are superior to all other races and cultures. The white supremacy group promotes oppression and racism. They do not respect people that are not of fair skin color, blue eyes and blonde hair. Their ideology preaches that everyone outside of their group are second class citizens and does not deserve the same rights. They believe that they are the dominant group (which they are – white privilege) and that the laws do not apply to them.
For the simple fact that I does not have a fair skin complexion, blue eyes or blond hair, to the white supremacy group, it means that I am an intruder, an outcast,

Assata an autobiography tells the story of Assata Shakur and in doing so shows the many facets of white supremacy within the American culture. White supremacy is not just the Ku Klux Klan spewing rhetoric of being a superior race and all other races being inferior, it more than this because it can affect how one views his or herself within a certain society. Have you internalized white supremacy? Internalized White Supremacy according to Linda Holtzman and Leon Sharpe, who wrote: “Theories and Constructs of Race” has explained what it means: “is the assumption of white superiority in intelligence, in achievement, and in the centrality in the U.S. culture by individuals who are often unaware of its powerful existence (600-601).” An example of white supremacy is Segregated public facilities were one of many tools of white supremacy, which systematically denied constitutionally guaranteed rights to African Americans during the twentieth century. Many people are uncomfortable using the term white supremacy except when discussing extreme forms of physical violence (such as lynching), cross burning, or other activities associated with the Ku Klux Klan and similar "hate" groups. In fact, white supremacy refers to an entire system designed to maintain white economic, legal, political, and social privilege.…

In the United States’ past, many groups have been victims of discrimination; Native Americans, African American, women, and many other peoples have felt the sharp pain of intense hate and oppression. Naturally, they have struggled to alleviate those constant, stabbing pains. Fortunately over time, the oppressed have made many successful attempts at teaching the oppressors the error of their way, and their efforts have led to Congress instituting legal restrictions against discrimination. The Fourteenth Amendment was one vital set of restrictions that introduced three clauses — the Equal Protection Clause, the Due Process Clause, and the Citizenship Clause — that Congress thought to be vital for the protection of many groups of people.…

“Colorblindness” in America “We the people” has been the slogan of America for over two hundred years. We pride ourselves on the fact that we want to treat all people of any gender, background, age and race the same. America has come a long way in many areas like woman’s rights and racial equality. We want to think that everything is all fine and dandy when it comes to racism, but we still have a long way to go. According to the Color-Blind Privilege by Charles A. Gallagher, denying race as a structural bias for inequality, we fail to recognize the privilege of Whiteness.…

It’s common practice in the human brain to view people and things that are familiar to them as superior. But that does not justify the condemning of others who are viewed as “lesser” people. Specific groups in America have been targeted because of their differences since the formation of the United States. These groups are called out for their variance from norms and are physically and emotionally attacked for their differences. Groups such as women who make up fifty percent of the population in the United States remain oppressed by structures that were put in place hundreds of years ago.…

The ignorance of the differences in individuals whether by gender, religion or skin tone can cause injustice because you can not force equality when there is none. This diversity allows different viewpoints in society and those opinions shaped by the individual's perspective should not be caged by the principle of political correctness. I am a german scholarship student and observed this injustice in an official selection procedure. You have to undergo several tests in order to find the most suitable applicant for the scholarship. One of the tests is a group interview where we had to prove ourselves through communication skills.…

I am writing to inform you of the recent actions that have been taking place in our community. I have taken notice of the rights we so happen to have “protected” have been violated. The rights we should have be given to us are as listed; The right to freedom of speech , being expressive to our opinion, freedom of discrimination and right to Education. But I am more intrigued in one in particular, that being Freedom from discrimination. As myself being part of the group labled “minorities” I will not stand for this racial profiling concept.…

In this society whiteness is considered to be the norm, and everyone else second. Throughout history the white race has been put before any other group of people. In a article titled “ The matter of whiteness ” by Richard Dyer he states, “As long as race is something only applied to non white people, as long as white people are not racially seen and named, they / we function as a human norm” (p.10). For example, whites consider themselves as humans and see people of color as raced humans. One other problem with the invisibility of whiteness is that whites tend to cater to other whites.…

The statement “all White people are racist” is something that this society is hearing increasingly. Most the people who say this statement would say that it is not a racial slur, but when you look at this statement it can be considered the same as “all Hispanics are illegal aliens” or “all black people are thugs and gang bangers.” “All white people are racist” is a racist term in and of itself because of the fact that not all white people are racist and come from different backgrounds, so by calling out the white community, the statement itself is racist. The statement is considered racist to many White people because it calls us out as whole just like “all Hispanics are illegal aliens” does.…

    White Hegemony In America

In America, the concept of “race” has existed for a very long time now. This concept has been “based on false ideas, myths, and fabrications that accumulated over the centuries to form a grand, sweeping story or metanarrative to justify the exploitation of entire populations of human beings[...]” (Holtzman and Sharpe 609). White hegemony has come from these falsities. There are many people in the world that believe that if one’s skin is white, they are automatically better than everyone else. White hegemony is the trying to keep the whites “on top.”…
