Privilege is a right, advantage, or freedom granted or available only to a particular person or group of people. As an American, I was born with a series of privileges. Some of those privileges are educational, financial, and etc. Educationally, I was born in a family where education was highly important and I learned that without this educational privilege I wouldn’t be able to do much in life. The greatest challenge for me with education is keeping my drive and devotion focused on the gratitude, without getting distracted by the potential luxuries and pleasures my point offers. I chose to go to school for something more realistic in my first semester of my sophomore year of college, with the desire for it to force me to stay accustomed to the outside world. White males were soldiers, doctors, lawyers, nurses, policy makers, and law enforcers. White males still hold majority of the same positions today. Humanity has been persistent in an ongoing battle for years. This resulted in White privilege. Many racial ills continuously keep the black and white races apart; much of this separation is the result of White privilege. I’m not being racist but my goal here is to help people realize that everyone has the same privileges. Regardless of efforts to put the past behind, there still is a strong stench of discrimination of every kind. With me being an African American young adult trying to get an education competing for a job and the next spot in line, discriminating people try to stop every privilege I could possibly have. Some Caucasians do not see the problem as we see it is represented but other races such as African Americans, Latinos, Hispanics and other races respond in ways to fire back but still don’t get noticed.
