This course has been very beneficial to my development as a culturally grounded social worker. There were four components that stood out to me. One thing that stood out to me was the article regarding the experiences of Vietnamese refugees. The article painted a great picture of the treatment of those who are from underrepresented populations. The feelings you described were raw and represent feelings of others who might feel uncomfortable with speaking up for themselves when they are treated properly. The assignment on White Privilege was also important as it allowed me to really reflect on my experiences and the privileges I take for granted. I also enjoyed the research assignment as it allowed me to fully examine life through the lens
