White Nose Syndrome Case Study

With the emergence of newly developed disease the rush to find a cure is the main focus. However, to reach that goal the characteristics that are assumed to play a factor in the development of the disease must be researched. In the case of white nose syndrome researchers believe that environmental characteristics and sex can predict survivorship in bats with white nose syndrome. Since, it is known that white nose syndrome takes place during hibernation researchers began with a mock setup of the hibernation practices of the little brown myotis. This study would investigate various variables that influence the mortality of the little brown myotis.
