Their intent was to bring his dead body back to civilization. The six sled dogs were exhausted, they were running out of food, and had hardly any ammunition left. To top it all off, there was also a pack of starving wolves stalking close behind. One night as they call the dogs together to feed them, they notice there are seven to be fed. Little did they know, that a she-wolf had snuck into the pack. The next morning, they awaken to find only five dogs left. Both skeptical, they keep an eye on the pack, finally spotting the she-wolf as she lures dogs away in the night. Soon only two of the dogs remain, Bill, determined to shoot the she-wolf, is murdered by the other wolf pack. Henry builds a fire around himself to protect him from the packs, now alone with no food, dogs, or ammunition. He had killed off his supply of wood as well. Just as he decides to give up, he is rescued. The perspective veers over to the she-wolf, who is traveling with three other male wolves. Everything was relatively fine, that is, until one of the males, “One Eye”, kills the two others. They later have to stop so the she-wolf can birth her litter of puppies. Yet another famine causes all but one of the pups to die. The strong, young dog has to learn how to survive in the wild. One lesson he had to learn was, “eat or be eaten, kill or be killed”, because the world he grows up in is full of …show more content…
It may had been because whenever I would read a chapter, all I could think about was how I wanted to do literally anything else. I feel like it would have been improved by not having so many bland chapters with almost no interesting things going on. A lot of the chapters felt static and uneventful, and I felt as though most of them could have been more engaging. I also felt like all of the smaller climaxes were all the same throughout the

Jack London, a writer who is known for his writing focused on wolves, was born on January 12, 1876 (Leal, N/A). By the time he was 30, he gained fame for his books Call of the Wild (1903) and The Sea Wolf (1904) (Leal N/A). At this point, the themes of wolves and exploring the lives of creatures in the wild were very prominent in London’s writing, so it came as no surprise that when he wrote White Fang in 1906, yet again centered around wolves (Leal N/A). However, this book was different, considered to be almost an antithesis to Call of the Wild. Whereas Call of the Wild explored the story of a domesticated dog returning to nature, White Fang centers around a wolf pup, for whom the novel is named, who is taken into an Inuit village and slowly but steadily changes with his surroundings.…

Hal, Charles, and Mercedes mistreated the dogs and then fell through the ice. “He pulled when he could; when he could no longer pull, he fell down and remained down till blows from whip or club drove him to his feet.” They would run the dogs till they were tired and no longer could stand and assumed they were being lazy so they would beat them.…

Within the story of White Fang lies several Antagonists and a single Protagonist. These include Lip Lip, Beauty Smith, and even the notorious Wild, otherwise known as his instinct which is driven by many generations of wild dogs within his family tree. The story is similar in comparison to the Artemis Fowl series which I read about a year ago, which is part of a series of novels. Though the protagonists are a completely different species, they share many relationships that prove them to be alike.…

How did I feel about the book Unlikely Allies? I had lots of difficulty reading the book, from the sudden changes in scenes to the exhausting writing. It felt like a sloppy mess of sudden twists and turns that would, in most books, keep me intrigued, but this did not interest me at all. If the author added just a little bit of flair to the certain parts of the writing then I think I would really enjoy the book. The book had things I didn’t like, a few things I did like, and a couple things I would change.…
