Throughout many years, there has been an ongoing discussion on whether or not white actors should play black characters, one of which was around the play Othello. ¨Othello: the role that entices and enrages actors of all skin colors,¨ written by Andrew Dickson, ¨Aladdin: putting a white character in Disney's live-action remake is offensive,¨ by Hannah Flint, and Shakespeare Uncovered, White Actors Playing Othello, PBS, all showed similar but at the same time varying opinions of white actors playing roles intended for other races.
