Mr. Russell’s presentation dealt mainly with some of the interesting facts and the challenges for White Castle to overcome. White Castle currently has more than 380 stores nationwide with the main base in the Midwest. In addition, White Castle owns 2 bakery plants and 3 meat plant and because of that, White Castle has a very good vertical supply chain. Besides the regular restaurant business, White Castle also owns 3 frozen food plants. Although not well-known, the frozen food line actually has an important role in the overall strategy of White Castle. Some of the most important customers for the frozen food products include Walmart. Sam’s Club, and Kroger, and some of the new customers are Costco, Safeway, Sobeys, and Food Basics.
