Sinkholes. The horrid monstrosities that cause indescribable damage. There are three main Earth processes that cause sinkholes: erosion, weathering, and deposition. So the question is, which Earth process has the most impact on sinkhole formation? And why might you want to answer this? To show that everything that happens on Earth has a process behind it. To find out the answer to this question, I did a lab activity. To set it up, I had to stack 36 sugar cubes 3x3x4, and then put two weighted boxes on either side of the cube stack. Then, I flattened a ball of clay and put it over the cubes and boxes. Finally, I put a weight on top of the clay. This setup was done in a tray.
