The book is "Where's My Mummy" by Carolyn Crimi. I will have a copy with me on Tuesday if you want to see it.
I would read the book first. Right now my plan is to use voices, act out a few of the characters, and provide a snack during reading. However, when we workshop my lesson at Gordon I imagine many will suggest it is a classroom management disaster. So this may change :)
For a writing activity to go along with the reading they would write about a time they were lost or scared and what made them feel better. They would also add a reaction.
