The music was not perfect for the performances, but hopefully Mr. Martinez, Mr. Udland and the orchestra were the only ones who knew that. There were many times where an individual could not play something so they made something up that sounded similar. This was especially true for the flutes and clarinets, who had run after run of notes, the runs seemed to never end. We thought it was difficult the first day of rehearsal and we were drastically under tempo, I did not think that we could pull it off. I thought that we were going to crash and burn; however, when all of the parts lined up and we were able to hear how the voices fit into the music, I realized that I excelled passed my own expectations, and overall the group sounded great. Up to that point I had never soloed and I was scared to death that I was going to screw it up. Overall it was a simple song to do and by the last show I was confident in what I was doing. I gained plenty of experience through this opportunity, making me into a better flautist. This was my first experience in pit orchestra and I loved it, I would do this again in a
