Argumentative Essay: Where's Gender Equality?

Where’s the Equality? Since the beginning of time, sexism has played a major roll in the lives of many. To today, it still exists inevitably in pop culture and media. Lacking gender equality, Americans are quick to judge women much more than men. Sexism is shown in local society, celebrities, the workforce, and even in medical situations. There are expectations after expectations for women; the tasks seem to never end. Although it is obvious that gender stereotypes are present, it is not clear why. After extreme research and, it is easy to see that women are much more looked down on than men. To begin, dress code is a simple and obvious way to prove that women are discriminated much more than men are. Many schools have dress codes that include a lengthy list for girls to follow without any exceptions; however, there are very few rules on the boys list. Girls have to spend their money on clothes that follow the dress code criteria rather than clothes that they actually like. Many clothing items in stores look conservative; ones that parents would even approve of, but they still violate the dress code. Why is the dress code so stern on these young girls even if they look properly dressed? In today’s society, a girl who sleeps with multiple guys is a slut; however, men are basically worshipped for having sex with many girls.
