Analysis Of The Song Where Were You

Where Were You? September 11th was the day everyone’s lives had changed for the worse. Everyone was going on about their everyday lives when two planes hit the twin towers destroying the buildings and killing many of the people in the planes and buildings. People watched in horror as the building went up in flames and the people in them couldn’t get out so they were having to jump for their lives. There were firefighters and police everywhere trying to help everyone but there were so many people being affected that they couldn’t do much. After the day was finally over many people didn’t know what to do and no one knew how to really approach the people who really went through it. That’s where I think Alan Jackson’s song “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)” comes in and asks people what they were doing on September 11th. In his song, he argues how everyone was living their normal lives while the planes were hitting the buildings and no one truly knows how the people affected were really …show more content…
He mentions how their day hadn’t changed at all like the people who were in the planes and buildings did. If you really think about it and look at what you were doing on that day you would see how he is right and your day was no different from any other day you had. Every year on September 11th we remember the people who lost their lives and we feel pain and sorrow for them but we honestly don’t know the pain like they were feeling. We have things going on all around us every day but it never affects how we live that day and on the next day we will all wake up and be able to still do the same things over again. For the people who lived after the attacks, their lives will never be the same again. They all probably have a fear of flying in planes and maybe even staying in high buildings because they never know if something like the 9/11 attack could happen
