Fear is one of the strongest emotions next to anger which both were felt during the vietnam war. When we are scared sometimes we do things that we don’t want to do or think we can’t do. PTSD is a disease of people who have experienced traumatic events they have flashbacks, upsetting dreams, and anxiety after the event. The disease just got it name in 1980 five years after the vietnam war ended NVVRS or the national vietnam veterans readjustment study did a evaluation of vietnam vets and up to 15% of them had PTSD or a form of it. People that have PTSD still live in fear of what happened 40 years or more after their service they say 7% of women and 11% of men still live with this disease and among theys people 37% of them met the criteria for major depression. They are still running test and doing study on vets with PTSD to see the long-term effects of this disease and how it affects their mental health in everyday
