Brent Staples is the writer of this Editorial. After doing some research about Staples I learned he earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Behavioral science from Widener University, followed by a Ph.D. in psychology from The University of Chicago. He has worked for The New York Times since 1985 and was originally hired as the Book Review editor. After searching through a database to see more of his work, I’d conclude that Staples does have credibility.
