When You Speak Rhetorical Analysis

Let me say this to begin this paragraph, some people say they want the truth but settle for lies are words I live by. To be honest, at first, I thought you were trying to kill us (the first four units), I needed to settle for quickies with my wife instead of well you know. I would spend time with her then back to my office to read, respond or whatever was on my schedule for that evening. Honestly, my wife was mad at you, lol, until I reminded her of her receiving her Master’s Degree. I know too funny. As I mentioned in one of the above questions I truly enjoy the voice threads, I enjoy the videos. It is a way to reduce the stress of reading, but getting the same message across. Also, I genuinely like the blogs, I guess you can tell. feel that is a very creative way to persuade …show more content…
Those two guys made me read beyond the words and think about what they were attempting to say. However, keep the Blogs, voice threads, and discussions, keep those coming. I am pleased with the way the class is laid out. Also do you have the power points you use on voice thread, can they be made available? I like to refer back to them from time to time when writing, but I have to log into voice thread to view them. I would say I love your passion that you bring to each subject, each book, each writing, I feed off of that from time to time. I have zilch to say negative about you and how you present the material to our class. To be honest, if I had to say one item we could use less of is reading, however, I understand the nature of this class, and I am well aware that if something goes away a new item has to dwell in that space, so I’m not going to complain. Again I am pleased with the layout of our class, again sometimes it can be overwhelming, but as I was told by my grandmother “This too shall pass”. I would give you an A as well as you are always prepared for us, you bring a variety of teaching styles to keep matters fresh, new and exciting. And most important you make us use our

In society, status and class are two of the most significant social forces that contribute to one’s own image. Not being born in the right social ranking can make life further difficult .This can inhibit the social mobility of an individual if they decide to move up a rung in the ladder of society. This social inequality plays a role in society that few people are able to manage .The social constructs of inequality are far reaching, and it even claws its way into the family. According to Dalton Conley, author of The Pecking Order, “The truth is that inequality starts at home” (pg. 586).…

    • The way this is article is written its intended audience is for everyone. • The type of audience its argument is appealing to is neutral, but Eighner is trying to influence the materialistic consumer to look at their own personal intake by putting less value on things and more value on living smaller. • You know this by the words he uses in the article, almost a kind of twist because he relates himself back to his audience.…

    1. The first issue with this analysis is the lack of supportive evidence. Since an analysis evaluates one source in depth, the author should have had more detailed recounts of the evidence he is trying to use to support his thesis. Much of the evidence that was used refers to nonspecific points in the plot, such as: “Michael’s delegation of the task of finding healthcare starts the unproductive process as he was primarily responsible for that task” (Smith, para. 4). The next issue is the lack of citations.…

In McPherson’s book, he refers to the economic environment of the South as being a slave reliant one in which it greatly depended on its predominantly agriculture and plantation systems, while the North focused more on equality and the rights of the people. African Americans began demonstrating political resistance and acting out against their white slave owners during the Civil War. When Lincoln came into office, the Freedmen’s Bureau surfaced which…

My Satire on Yelling Mrs. Ketterling suddenly burst into fiery fury wailing at me for not getting my essay done for English. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t anticipate a teacher screaming at me for something that I have not completed. Or, for that matter, when my parents are screaming at me because I didn’t do a chore at home. I love how their voices crack and become extremely loud and I even enjoy that my eardrums may break because of those lovely people.…

As an educator and member of the Newark community, I would like to express my opinion on the need for police reform in Newark. When you came into office your platform was heavy with rhetoric to reform the police culture and practices of the Newark Police Department. I would wholeheartedly agree with you but to date, I have not seen many changes. I understand that this is a very large issue to tackle with many moving parts and pieces but I believe that the police culture can only begin to change only when police officers are stakeholders in our community.…

Analysis of Rhetorical Project For this assignment, I decided to work off a subject that truly “strums” a string in my heart, which is racism, particularly the “Stop and Frisk” law which has arised in New York. This unfair law has been in my subconscious, as it strikes me as both illogical, and quite offensive to minorities. While the law aims to create “safety”, as well as eliminate criminal activity, it truly offends those who are suspected of crime, especially when a large sum of those people randomly happen to be POC. And, according to NYPD’s reports, 9 out of 10 of the chosen suspects are innocent. These people are pulled simply because they have a certain “look”, and I find it to be not only offensive, but…

While I began looking for an article that may interest me, I decided to look for an article that negative eye towards technology. That way I ensure myself that I had enough rhetorical ground to analyze. During peer review, I realized that I didn't have a clear on how to do a Rhetorical Analysis. In that essay I wrote whether I agreed or disagreed with the writer's main idea, in fact, one of my sentences was: “Nonetheless, he didn't manage to convince to agree with his point of view.”. I then learned that my opinion doesn't matter in a rhetorical analysis.…

English composition was never my strong nor favorite because of my knowledge of the grammar and organization in my writing. Taking English 101 is a jump start for me, because last year of high school my teacher focused primarily on English literature. The course has introduced me to rhetorical analysis, and swatching (imitating author argument). Throughout the semester and all of the papers written I can say that it was a good experience to write at a college level and the expectation from college professors is good for future courses that involve writing essays.…
