When You Can Just Stand Essay

After you've done all you can, just stand...

Just standing is exactly what I've been doing lately! It seems the closer I get to destiny the further away I become from victory. It seems as though for every corner I turn there's a brick wall just waiting to smack me in the face! The more good I do, the more bad comes to find me. If I had to give my life, at this very moment a tag line, it would be "the better the deed, the worser the consequence". It just seems that I'm doing all the right things: going to church, praying, staying on top of my studies, caring for others, etc. but yet and still misfortune finds its way on my doorstep.

One would think that by now I would be so discouraged and distraught about my journey I call life, but I'm just standing! Not standing stagnant, not standing defeated, not standing in fear, not standing heartbroken, nor standing

But look at me now, STILL STANDING, STILL PRESSING, STILL BELIEVING and the only way I'm able to function in this manner is because I STILL have a purpose! My purpose is going to propel me into my destiny and when I get to destiny, I shall have the victory!

To anyone that may be reading this, I know it may get tough some times, and it may seem like dark clouds always gather over your life, but hang in there and stand firm! Cling to your purpose and let it guide you! I'm learning that we may get bruised, we may be battered, but we're BETTER because of it!

Better is headed in your direction, so get ready for a change. If you've been discouraged, get ready to be encouraged! If you've been heartbroken, get ready to be loved! If you've been fearful, get ready to be fearless! Whatever it is that you've been dealing with and going through, get ready for something different because your current circumstances are about to be

Dr. Martin Luther King is such a hugely looked up to figure in our nation's history because of the incredible injustices he fought, but more importantly because he never lost hope while doing so. King assuredly was living in a remarkably segregated America, and the freedom, dignity, and equality of all races and people that he grappled for did not come easily. However, never was he seen giving up or losing even a shred of hope. Dr. King once said, “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.” Leading the citizens of the US with this in mind, was how he become such a prominent figure in history, and someone I aspire to be.…

I like the quote "Expect to be called a stand patter, but don’t be a stand patter. Expect to be called a demagogue, but don’t be a demagogue," in the speech given by Calvin Coolidge at Massachusetts. It might have a different meaning but to me, it means not to be what people call us. This is a common problem in the world today. We live by what people call us; our every steps and breaths are determined by people.…

Throughout the first trimester, many people have stood up for others at home, school, or our community. Our school theme this year is Just Stand Up for each other, peace, and our Earth. I have always considered my relationship with writing to be very insignificant. Although I enjoy spending time verbally expressing my thoughts and feelings to others, it becomes difficult when these thoughts and feelings are expressed through writing. Throughout my adolescent years, I would often receive feedback for my writing given by the teacher in the form of a grade. Being unable to effectively organize my thoughts and ideas into words and sentences, I would feel reluctant to continue writing confidently whenever I received an undesirable grade.…

A person’s truth is based upon their perception of the situation, but their inner strength will influence how they allow the situation to affect their perception. Some people choose to be the victim, while others believe in looking for the best of a situation. Oprah Winfrey, she has been quoted as saying, “Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity” (Oprah.com, 2010). The one verse I will forever live by is Psalm 143:8, “Let the morning bring the word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go, for to You I entrust my life”. This verse tells me that I do not need to fear about singing in front people, or fear befriending people, or fear leading others, or fear anything in this world because the moment I gave my heart to God, He continually held onto it with such a delicacy. He knows that I trust and have faith in Him, and likewise, I know He trusts and has faith in me. Many people do not think about God having faith and trust in them, but He does.…
