When Was The Constitution Written In 1787

The Constitution was written in 1787, in Philadelphia’s Independence Hall, a few years after America won the American Revolutionary War against Great Britain by Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Thomas Paine, and John Adams to create a stronger central government that would work for the benefit of all its citizens and define its rights that would be protected by the government. The Constitution consist of seven principles, which are popular sovereignty, federalism, separation of powers, checks and balances, limited government, and individual rights. Although it was written in 1787, it wasn't ratified until 1788 by the necessary nine states. The Constitution was written in secret, behind doors guarded by sentries. Before the Constitution was written, America used the Articles of Confederation. This government did not work which lead to the creation of the Constitution.

It has many courts but its highest court is the Supreme Court. It decides whether something is unconstitutional or constitutional.The Supreme Court is made up of nine justices or judges, eight are associate justices and one is the Chief Justice. The judges are chosen/appointed by the president but they have to be approved by the Senate. The Chief Justice also swears the president into office. The Supreme Court deals with cases that the courts below it have not finished. The Supreme Court’s decision is final and no other court can overrule it.
The first ten amendments that are a part of the constitution are the Bill of Rights. There are a total of 27 amendments in the constitution. The Bill of Rights lists specific prohibitions on governmental power. They were all released in the same year.
