In a recent Ted talk presentation, executive director of the Albert Einstein Institution, Jamila Raqib, discusses how she knows the secret on how to resolve conflict in a non-violent technique. She goes on to state how there are over one hundred techniques of non-violent actions that can be taken to resolve harsh issues instead of using violence. Although I understand what she is saying and agree to a certain extent, I think living during the time of a terrorist attack has made me realize there are certain circumstances that can only be handled with violence. If we as a country did not result to violence and retaliate against Bin Laden, our country would have lived in constant fear, there would have been more attacks organized by him, and other terrorists from other locations would have seen our country as weak and possibly set forth plans to attack us also.

Many people came together to clean up the massive pile of rubble that was once called the Twin Towers, while others were too scared to leave their homes. Several videos were release from Bin Laden with new threats toward the US, resulting in countless people avoiding crowded areas, and parents keeping their kids home from school incase of another attack. Air travel came to an all-time low, and the stock markets had a massive drop. Although our country established new preventatives to make the fight against terrorism stronger, such new policies with the airlines to prevent future high jackings of airplanes, and new homeland security departments to monitor potential terrorist, it still did not remove the fear we all
