Twenty One Pilots, which first gained popularity around mid-2010, brings something truly original and fresh to the face of Alternative Rock/Punk Rock. Twenty One Pilots has managed to grow a fanbase that is comparable to well known bands such as Fall Out Boy and Panic! At the Disco. The band is well known for their introspective qualities and complex lyrics, such as those from Vessel, their third album.
Twenty One Pilot’s Vessel, gives the listener a sensation similar to that of going through a therapy session. Like therapy, Vessel digs into difficult emotions, identifies and addresses these emotions, and makes the listener fully feel them. It’s equivalent to the part of therapy where a therapist would say something along the lines of “Yes, these thoughts and feelings are scary.They are real. They hurt.
