Light Exists To be told that you are worthless by your own mind is the darkest form of torture. Even so, many people, including myself, have either fought off or are hearing such voices inside our heads daily. Defeat of such tyranny is one of the greatest accomplishments humanity can achieve. Seizing upon hope and light wherever it exists is key to darkness’s destruction and is of the utmost importance. No longer should each person dwell on his or her shortcomings, but rather follow the light and its subsequent freedom.
However, to defeat a formidable foe, one must delve into its tactics. To begin, each microscopic statement darkness utters further erodes the little self-image that remains in this day and age. Its voices are born of societal standards, every eye seemingly trained upon each person and his or her iniquities. We, as creations of the Almighty, are to become bearers of all that is good and of value in this world, and while difficult, never falter to share such blessings with all we encounter.
