To begin with, if a friend asks if "They look fat" and there is no way they can change then you may have to lie. Granted, it is known that lying can be used to protect others yet it can also be used to protect yourself. For example, "65% percent of those questioned said it was sometimes Ok to lie to avoid hurting someone's feelings..."(Article 1 Paragraph 7). Basically, this means that people will use lying as a way of protecting themselves from the consequences of telling the truth. Granted there is evidence that shows lying can protect someone, but also make us look bad and lose someone's trust if they find out. In article 3 it states, "You have to remember what you told each person" (Article 3 Paragraph 7). This means that when you tell someone a lie you have to remember which person and what lie you told that person. This matters because it's gonna make it that much harder to focus on anything else. In addition, Immanuel Kant think, "...It harms the liar himself, by destroying his human and making him more worthless even then a small thing" (Article 2 Paragraph 3).
