Lying is justified when it can be used to protect and care for others. For example, in article one it says that “Anne Frank survived as long as she did because those sheltering her and her family lied to the Nazis.”(1) If they didn't lie to protect Anne Frank wouldn't have survived. What i mean by this is that not everyone lies to hurt others some people lie to protect others.In addition, in article one Randy Cohen and Ethics Columnist says “ Not only is lying justified but a moral duty.” (2) Lying is an important essential to protect friendships and feelings of others. For example in article one DePaulo stated that “Lying can help maintain a relationship.” (1)This connects to my argument because if you're 100% honesty in a relationship you might offend your partner/friend. Also, instead of disagreeing and starting an argument you can just not say anything even though you might not agree with them.
