For example, in glass testing such as the study of cells within a petri dish, can produce more reliable and relevant responses than animal testing as actual human cells can be used. This significantly reduces the risk of unreliable results as the researchers can see the direct and indirect effects a chemical, medication or beauty product has on human cells, rather than animal cells which have a different biological make-up. Animal testing is also extremely expensive and time consuming – the testing of chemicals using animals can take up to five years per substance and cost millions of dollars, while non-animal alternatives, such as the aforementioned glass testing, can test hundreds of different chemicals in a week for a fraction of the cost. It is completely unnecessary to use animal testing in these mordern times when there are so many cheaper, quicker and cruelty-free
