Nursing Personal Statement The Nursing field, in my opinion is one of the most honorable and respected career paths to be a part of. This career brings joy to million by comforting those that need it the most and most importantly this career path saves lives. Saving lives is the most important reason why I am choosing a career in the medical field. In middle school one of my good friends almost choked to death on a burger he ate too quickly. Instead of realizing something was wrong, I thought he was joking and laughed, trying to go along with what I thought was one of his hijinks.…
1 When I was in elementary school, I knew I wanted to be something in the medical field. I didn’t know what, but I knew that was the field I wanted to be in. I wanted to do something that would help other people. Now, as a sophomore, I have decided to be a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Ultrasound Technician. I like everything about the job and think it is a great choice for me.…
1. When I started in college, I was unsure of what degree I wanted to get. One thing I know for sure is that I wanted to be in the medical field. I was choosing between ultrasound, radiology, nuclear med, and nursing. I tried thinking what are my possible chances of getting a job and chances of success in each place. I chose nursing which is a degree with a growing demand and greater opportunities.…
Growing up I never had a clear idea of what I wanted to do as a profession. No inclination of something that amazed me or pushed me toward it. I eventually chose what I thought would be a good stable career simply because it would be a financially good choice but it never seemed like something I could stick with or love. I discounted anything from the medical field because everyone was going there and I didn't want to be a lost number of people rushing to the same career, I wanted to be a little different.…
Personal statement- medicine Compassion lies at the heart of medicine. In the midst of the A&E ward, my time in hospital revealed the healthcare team’s professionalism as they worked together efficiently during ward rounds. It left me inspired. Following this, medicine has appealed to me becoming a route to better the health of others. The opportunity to provide care and to use medical knowledge for patient benefit compels me to become a doctor.…
Paragraph 1:Title of the career/occupation you chose and a summary/description of the job in your own words. What led you to this career in science? The career I have chosen is a surgeon. A surgeon operates to fix injuries, correct deformities, prevent diseases, and help out the patients in any other way they can.…
When I was a child and a lot of times during my adolescence I had several moments of indecision about the things that I wanted. From the simplest to the most complicated. And although it was hard to choose what to write or what flavor of ice cream to buy, I was always sure of one thing: I like to help people. That's why I chose nursing as my career to college because this was a way I found to realize my dream; being able to help my fellow man when he needs it most. Care, protect, guide and support anyone who needs, help others to face their fears and challenges, it is very rewarding!…
There are several reasons why I am interested in the healthcare industry. First, it is a growing field and will provide a stable career. Next, it provides a opportunity to give back to the community and the sense of accomplishing something everyday which makes work and life more enjoyable. Lastly, is the chance to meet people from all walks of life. Everyone uses and values healthcare, so the diversity of patients provide an opportunity to meet others in community that you might not otherwise.…
When I was nine years old lying in a hospital bed so close to death the paediatricians, nurses and doctors saved my life and I was so thankful, those doctors inspired me to go into the medical profession. My whole experience at the hospital kind of showed me what I wanted to be. When I was able to walk, I would walk to see the younger kids I would talk to them and if they were nervous I would tell them it would be ok, at that point I realized I wanted to work with children I felt like I related to them more and it was easy to calm them down and talk to them. Once I decided I wanted to be a paediatrician I had to decide what speciality to go in, I decided emergency medicine because I didn’t want to do one study for the rest of my life this way I can see all kinds of diseases and sicknesses.…
The career I chose to research, that I had in mind when entering college, was a general surgeon. I chose this career because I have been interested in entering the medical field since I was around fifteen or sixteen years old. Also, my mother has been in the medical field for a while, and she influenced me to join as well. With my career, I achieve to master what I do, help others physically and mentally, and make a difference around the world if I decide to travel with my job.…
In the summer of 2003, excitement was in the air. It was our first school trip across our state. After a year of ups and downs filled with rewards and regrets, it was time to give something back to the community. As the school bell rang to mark the last day of 9th grade, we rushed home, retrieved our bags, and headed out for the trip. After arriving at dawn, we divided into groups and set about exploring the villages on foot.…
“Be the change you wish to see in the world” is a statement that I now live by as an adult. As a child, I have always had aspirations of becoming a physician. However, at that stage, I did not understand the difficulty of addressing health and medicine. This “change” occurred when I finally realized the complexity of my identity and observed the health inequality of a specific group of people. My goal is to become an internist and pursue a career in academic medicine to address the health disparities of an underserved population, the minority Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, and Queer (LGBTIQ) community.…
It is Saturday, December 3, 2016 in Brookings, South Dakota where I attend college at South Dakota State University. It is the day of the first round, home, playoff football game between the South Dakota State Jackrabbits and the Villanova Wildcats. While most students are either at the game or watching it downtown at the bars, I am in my room studying. This is the life of a pre-medical student. Being a pre-medicine major and a student of the process of becoming a doctor, I have seen and lived what a difficult undertaking this major is.…
My desire to pursue a career in medicine initially bloomed out of an interest in Biology. I was fascinated with learning about the body’s mysteries and how it functions, so I entered college as a pre-medical student. During this time, I was able to experience volunteering in the medical field and my passion for medicine increased. My experiences have shown me that medicine is a strong fit for me.…
Through a career in medical field I 'll be able to extend a helping hand to those who are injured and in need. I 'll be able alleviate the condition of millions of people who are in need of medical attention. It may sound cliché and corny but it is my truth. However, if I was to take my Theology exam and encounter the question "what do you want to be when you grow up and why," I would answer it differently now. Helping those who are in need will always be a primary reason if not, a go-to reason when explaining a career choice.…
