I was born and raised in El Salvador a small country in Central America. I came here when I was only eleven years old. Coming to the United States changed my life completely. I had to learn a new language, culture, and environment. I was so happy to come here because I wanted a better life for me, but I never knew all the obstacles I was going to face by leaving my country.
First of all, my biggest obstacle was learning English at the age of eleven. My first day of school in Robert Finley Middle School was horrible. I was so nervous and scared at the same time because I did not know anyone at the school. Everyone looked at me strangely like if I wasn't a normal person; I felt miserable. When I went to my classes I did not understand what my teachers were saying. I had the best teacher anyone could ever ask for. Her class was my favorite, she used to make us laugh and teach us with love. I felt like she was a second mother to me, she helped me with so many things. For example, she taught me the good and the bad in Middle School. She always made sure I was good no matter what. She was my motivator to learn English everyday. With time, practice, and patience I overcame my greatest barrier.
In addition, all the struggle I went through made me realize that no matter what life puts on your way you never have to give up. I want to be a teacher because I love working hard to make a chance. I love helping other people when they are in need. Also, I want to inspired other students that even if you do not know English fluently you can have a career and have a better future. Achieving my goal of being a teacher can make me so proud and also make the people that love me as well. Education is the key to success and it can open so many
