Although, most of us undergo conflicts once in a while in our lives. Conflicts usually exist when at least one party believes that the other party’s actions threaten his or her interests. For example, when your significant other talks to another person and you do not like it. You start to feel that he/she may leave you for the other person which can lead to a conflict. I found it very interesting that there are five ways to deal with conflict. The avoiding technique is the one I always use because I believe when there is conflict it makes me feel negative and upset. In some circumstances, I decide to compromise because I just want to end the conflict in a positive manner and maintain my relationship with the other person in a good manner. However, if I am extremely angry and the situation is very bad I will compete with the other side. It is not the best thing to do but sometimes it is beyond my control. With reference to the text, pg.7 talks about positional bargaining which is something I believe I engage in most of the time.
