Mrs. Dogge was the individual that thieved the diamonds because, almost all evidence points towards her. First, both her spoon and napkin were on the ground. This shows that Mrs. Dogge made a quick swiping motion to grab the diamonds. Also her placemat was pulled off the table slightly. Since the napkin and spoon on Mrs. Dogge’s side of the table were on the floor, it can be assumed that she had made the motion to grab the diamonds, but pulled the placemat by mistake. With the placemat, she moved the spoon and napkin, leaving them on the floor. Secondly, Mrs. Dogge was the one who was sitting closest to the diamonds and farthest from the door.
